Many of us get giddy at the thought of curling up in fresh linens with thread counts so high we can hardly grasp the concept of the numbers. What's better than a closet full of plush towels and a few sets of perfect linens for your bed? *sigh* Maybe it's just me, but I'm very specific about my sheet sets. Patterns may be pretty, but I much prefer the perfect set of crisp white sheets. For variety I get wild and mix it up with cream or beige. Maybe eggshell. Oooh! Yes, I'm a bit of a purist in the sheet department. I'm always focused on the upscale hotel experience when I sleep, and the zen of solid linens offers me unparalleled bliss.

As for bath towels? Don't get me started. I love color in this area. But color is only one dimension of the complexity of the selection process. We have to consider thickness, size, absorbency, function, frequency of use... the list goes on. As any woman knows, it takes just the right towel to make a girl happy. Table linens? An entirely different topic I could go on about at length. Frankly, that may warrant a separate series of posts. The bottom line? Choosing the right linens that meet our individual standards is never easy, and it almost always requires a handsome investment from your salary.
