It's impossible to watch the Vuitton, Miu Miu and Valentino shows online without desperately wanting to book a flight to Charles De Gaulle airport. Of course, proper planning is key. Where to stay? What to pack? I can help you with at least a few of these things. Stay at Le Royal Monceau. This elegant hotel is situated on the prestigious Avenue Hoche, just steps from the Champs Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe and the elegant Parc Monceau. It is gorgeous and grand, with a nod to mod thanks to Mr. Philippe Starck. Yes, that one. You'll delight in the bold color, sparkling chandeliers, and spaces to lounge and chat in this brilliantly designed Paris hotel. Did I mention the spa is provided by Clarins? Yes, you need to stay here.

What to do? That's entirely up to you, although Paris - admittedly - is one city in which I prefer have little to no agenda. So much to experience. Aside from the Louvre (which would surely take days to completely take in properly), Paris is a city where you should feel free to stroll, meander... get lost. This is harder to do now that I have young children, but not entirely impossible. Set aside time for many cafe stops, playing in the park, strolling int shops and - most importantly - letting Paris consume you. Set aside your American haste, your entrepreneurial sense of "hurry" and simply let the City of Light bring out your inner French girl.

What to wear? I've pinned down my travel essentials, and you'll notice I keep it very classic. Black skinny pants, white silk blouse, Vintage Chanel necklace, roomy travel bag, black eyeliner etc. Classic, chic and polished. These might be classic looks, but they are anything but basic. Each piece has special detailing or some aspect of it that gives you an edge of mystery and heightens your sense of chic. After all, confidence comes from within and we want you stepping off the plane with a sense of purpose and an all-knowing look. Take cues from these foundational pieces and build from there. And of course... leave just enough room in your carryon to bring home something special. You deserve it.
