Under Lock & Key
Every girl fantasizes about converting a full bedroom into a massive boutique-like environment. Mine would - er, I mean will be complete with spot lighting to showcase favorite bags, special shoes and other pretty little things that make me happy. I want special shelves for shoes - but not an entire wall - too warehouse'ish for my taste.

Instead I want a boutique like experience with little vignettes. A special nook for special occasion complete with sequined bags and towering heels. An area for cooler temps with knee-high boots, fabulous coats and cashmere sweaters. Summer attire has a special place in the sun: a showcase for big hats, pretty dresses and jeweled sandals. The fitness apparel area would house cute little outfits to grab on the run. Oh, this place is going to be amazing. I can't WAIT to create this very special vision in my mind. In the meantime, I can drool over (and take notes on) the wardrobes and storage ideas of others.
And frankly, I don't blame that Real Housewife of DC for having a biometric lock on her closet. It is, after all, a treasure trove of your most fabulous possessions all in one spot. Best to thwart the efforts of would-be thieves or sticky-fingered friends (in her case, a teenage daughter) from "borrowing" your Derek Lam sandals.
{witness Miley Cyrus's FABULOUS space above}

A recurring theme/requirement in my faves are: seating, a full length lean-to mirror, pretty wallpaper, a chandelier, fantastic lighting and ample shelving. I want there to be no mistake that this is a woman's closet (sorry, honey).

I WILL have a closet like this before I die. Thanks for providing the inspiration. I think I'd probably live in my closet if it looked like any of these.
Great post (as usual) Frankie!

I'm totally with you! When we built our new house (just moved in July 10) I planned a good-sized closet with lots of storage space and a cool chandelier- just for fun. I haven't taken any pics of it "fully furnished" but plan to soon:) p.s. I looove your blog.
