When I was in college my parents sent me a card with a sun on it and inside they wrote "in our little world you are the sun." Twenty years plus years later I still have that card. It reminds me how lucky I am to have such loving parents.

my good friend and i parted ways after college and i remember when reality dawned on me that hings would never go back to being the same. that day she sent me a greeting card promising that we'd be friends till the end. i cry laughed in the middle on the room reading it.

my boyfriend handed me a handwritten card when we parted ways at the train station in paris this past valentine's day. of course i had to go and open it right away and promptly burst into tears! the whole scene was so old-fashioned and i think i'll always cherish the memory.

One Christmas my boyfriend gave me a card, but it wasn't a Christmas card. It was this adorable card with a little boy and little girl holding hands on a beach. He wrote me a lovely poem, and it was absolutely adorable - and then pulled out two tickets to the Mayan Riviera... sweetest card I've ever gotten :)

Every holiday, even little ones, my grandmother sends me a hallmark-type card. Halloween's was "Whooooo's special?" with a little owl on the front. I think my favorite was a christmas card with nothing to do about christmas that said "Little did most people know, the tin-man's request was for a bigger..."
...thanks, Grandma...

The best cards I have received are when the gift giver takes the time to write a very personal message that reveals their true feelings and also that they genuinely cared enough to write more than a few words. These cards mean more than any gift ever could.
What a lovely giveaway!

I love funny, witty cards. Lately its been kind of a competition to see who can outdo the other. My husband is a man of few words when it comes to cards so it happens that this is a good way for him to express himself.

I love sending cards. In this day and age when all that most people receive in the mail is bills/invoices, its always nice to find, in the letterbox a lovely card or note from a friend or loved one just to say hi.
