Are We There Yet?
All I can think about right now is getting away. I grew up not far from the coast in the Carolinas, so for me a "vacation" means three things: palm trees, sunshine & sand. Those are my elements. Balmy breezes, dinners overlooking water, listening to the surf. Fresh seafood. Really fresh. Ahhhh.... I can smell the salt in the air already. This year we're staying domestic and headed south and west for fun in the sun.
What about you? What are you in the mood to do this summer? Are you more of a hiking/camping/mountains adventurist? Or do you vacation by heading deep into the concrete jungle for shopping expeditions? Are you braving the currency exchange rate and heading overseas (that would be my first choice this year... okay, any year)? Do you jet off to exotic locales to play in the snow? Or do you play it close to home.
Where are you going? What are you doing? When are you leaving? Who's going with you?

We booked a room in Monaco for the start of The Tour De France. My husband is booking our flight as I type.
Whoooo-hoo! I can not wait.

Oh that is PERFECT! That's my kind of trip. I adore Monaco. Needed more time there, and definitely have to get back. High speed racing, Monte Carlo...my kind of trip, honey!

In California for the summer- which is a great vacation from Nebraska, my home state.

Next vacation is a family wedding in the Midwest. I've tacked on a visit to Frank Lloyd Wright's home Taliesin in Madison, Wisconsin.

Hi Franki,
We are also staying domestic this year because of our little bundle of joy. We are thinking of going driving somewhere close, maybe Washington.
Have a great time.

Kimberly, I'm headed to Cali, too. Can't wait! Julie...we're stateside because of our little one, too. I feel you. Fortunately, there's a lot to do in the US :)
Travel Muse- I haven't been to that one! I've been to a few in Illinois & one in Phoenix. Anxious to see how the Wisconsin one fares. :)
