Carpe Diem
There's a book you might want to add to your collection. It's not a novel or a book one might read cover to cover. But if you'd love to have the kind of tome on hand that allows you to open it to any chapter to gain new perspective, a fresh outlook or just a reminder of the power of the present moment, I recommend Living a Charmed Life. It's full of candid personal tales, life lessons and general reminders to us all to stop waiting for "someday" to arrive.
You know what I mean by "someday" - right? It's putting off your happiness until you're married, or land that sweet new job, or finally see Paris. I see these people all of the time. They are waiting to be happy. How can you wait to be happy? Happiness isn't the grand result of perfectly aligned planets and years of work. Happiness is now. It's yours. It's a decision you make every day. Every moment. And if you enjoy the process of living, then yes - you will surely be happy when you and your new hubby (or wife) are celebrating that new job by sipping coffee in a cafe in Paris
You can't live life waiting for perfect events. You have to focus on the "now." You see... someday is today. And the sooner you embrace that and take note of it, the happier you'll be. So if you need a great little book to nudge you in that direction, pop this one in your beach tote this weekend and read it between dips in the water or put it on your nightstand to read the occasional chapter before bed. It'll remind you to enjoy the present for what it is, a gift. You'll be happy you did.
Now stop reading and go play in the sun!

I know we were separated at birth. LOL! I so needed to hear that message. Thank you thank you! I am going to buy this book and live my life to the fullest everyday! Thanks Franki!

Happiness (like love) is what happens when you're looking the other way. It is a rare gift to be able to savor moments as they happen. More power to ya sister!

Oh.. I constantly try to take stock of life and how wonderful and blessed I am NOW.. but let me tell you, many times, it's the thought of tomorrow that gets me through today..:-)

The buddhists say that your pot of gold is directly beneath your feet. In other words, the doorway to happiness is in the present.
