Sometimes We All Need a Little Therapy
Are you drooling yet? Because I am. Let me just say, rarely do I see work that I appreciate as much as the above photos. There are days I remind myself of Jeff Lewis because I have to have my surroundings "just so" in order to relax. Yes, I'm guilty of fussing over mere millimeters when it comes to furniture and accessory placement. So it's not often I adore everything I see in someone else's work. But these spaces are like visual therapy for my eyes.
So who directed the stunning vistas above? Plush fabrics.... "just right" pops of color in an otherwise soothing color palette. Look at how he lets the sunlight play a key role in the "joy factor" of a room. PERFECTION. And I don't say that often.
So who, pray tell, is responsible for such impeccable work? Meet Brad Ford, principal of Brad Ford Interior Design out of New York. Reading his design philosophy only reinforces my appreciation of his work.
"...[Brad's] interiors showcase signature designs that are understated yet sophisticated, straightforward, elegant and functional. Balance, light, space and color factor into every design, creating a timeless effect. Clean lines and simple but well-crafted furnishings, with an attention to texture and the highest quality materials are BFID essentials. We listen carefully to make sure that we create environments that complement and suit the lifestyle and personality of the client. Whether the room is formal or casual, traditional or modern, accessibility and comfort are a must..."
{Note to Brad: I realize you are in NYC... but when Mr. Venti and I finally land in our dream home in the San Diego area you will be invited to design that space for us. }
And for those of you reading... you can learn more about Brad by visiting his blog Design Therapy. I imagine it will be just the dose of beauty you need to get through your busy week.
ciao!

San Diego is WONDERFUL! I would live there if it weren't so far from my friends and family.
I LOVE that green sofa with pink pillows room!
