J Who?
Let's just get it out there. We're all a bit J Crew obsessed lately. It started on the sly, and now it is far beyond any of the stages of denial normally reserved for cult-like fan behaviour.
What I like most, is seeing how we weave them into the theme of our blogs. Take, for example, those of us more than just a wee bit obsessed with home interiors. We can still find myriad ways to integrate this purveyor of all-things-12-gauge-fine-knit-cashmere into our story.
Witness Habitually Chic. She has done a lovely expose on the catalog shoot at the iconic Kaufmann house. And Turquoise Chic... who I can always count on for digging up incredible photos of luscious interiors. Yes, our little style-minded vixen has also fallen prey to the (fiercely powerful) pull of the latest thigh grazing silk frock (available in sizes 0-14 and falling 21.5 inches from the natural waist). *sigh*
At least those who have readily called themselves fashion bloggers have an excuse. I expect Glossy Scented Magazines to lust after the male models in the catalog. I'd be disappointed if a post like this didn't appear. And Priya of Love Made Visible does such a great job writing about style in general. She's fully entitled to openly fawn over the latest installment of argyle goodness from the classic-fit broken-in chino (made of washed two-ply cotton twill, faded and frayed for a vintage look) masters themselves. And Coquette wouldn't be Coquette if she didn't adore the Campo de Fiore dress.
So how do I justify my obsession? I can't. Other than to say I've quietly been filling my closet with fresh picks from the 2008 line. Like this (lovely boatneck, three-quarter sleeve merino) sweater dress which I am so anxious to wear that I've already selected the shoes I'll pair with it. (Yes. Yes, I am 8 months pregnant and cannot wear my new cashmere cardigans and shift dresses yet...but they wait in my closet like an arsenal of style... awaiting my fashionable arrival... if nothing else, you have to appreciate my commitment to the cause.)
So let's just call it what it is and admit we're crushing on this brand in a major way. And by the looks of my closet and jewelry box, it seems they are responding very well to the encouragement. So stop denying yourself the pleasure. Head on over and clean up on their final sale items after you've drooled over the spring lineup. I promise you'll be happy you did.

I *heart* them so much.
How did one brand get to be SO GOOD? and lure everyone of us in...the mom's, the fashionistas, the home interior lovers -all of us.
They have brilliant creative director, brilliant art directors, fantastic locations and photography.
I think I want to work for them!
sigh....

I have always been more of a Banana Republic fan than J Crew- but lately they have had some great stuff there- you are tempting me to go shopping today for new spring clothes! :)

They have been weirdly good of late, haven't they? Not everything works as well ON as they do in a catalog photo (go figure), but their spring line has been surprisingly strong, and I've bought more stuff from them than I usually do (I succumbed to one of their knit dresses, too). Eight months? Good luck.

I'm just so glad we're all out of the closet on this one ;) They must have absorbed the best and the brightest from every major design team out there. Talk about consistently hitting the mark!
