Worth Getting Out of Bed For

15_11301bridgehouse9 $11.9M Buys a lot. 10,155 square feet of custom award-winning splendor to be exact. The Bridge House is an expansive estate sitting like a jewel on the water of Florida's Windermere's Reserve at Lake Butler Sound. I ran across it featured as the estate of the day on Luxist, but felt compelled to dig deeper. Turns out, the home was designed by architect Mark Nasrallah and built by Rial Jones of Jones-Clayton Construction. It won no less than six awards in the 2007 Aurora Awards in the Custom Home category.

Here are some details from the listing:

"Perfection" describes the interior with Jerusalem limestone and Calcutta gold marble flooring, a theater room for 10 with expanded Kaleidoscape system, Biazzi glass mosaics and insets, custom lighting including Murano glass and signed fixtures, Swarovski crystal insets in the fireplace, and master spa with steam room, pressure shower and exercise area. Art deco architecture and contemporary inspiration make each room of this home a unique work of art.

15_11301bridgehouse1 I can't say I normally fawn over art deco, but the facade of the house is so commanding it compels me to rethink my stance. My favorite feature is the bedroom with the open wall overlooking the pool. True luxury is being able to blend marvelous interiors with the exquisite surroundings found in Florida, California and the Mediterranean, and this Nasrallah home does just that. Wall of windows and 'phantom walls' create a beautiful marriage of ideal weather and luxe surroundings. It's really too bad I have no intention of moving to Florida anytime soon... ;)

What the beautiful people are saying...

There is an art deco house on one of the premiere streets of Atlana...it is been on and off the market for many years! This one reminds me of it. You have to have specific taste to like an art deco house, but they are lovely in their own way.

P.S. - I adore real estate listings from other cities as I am addicted to the local listings, and yearn for new and different listings!

Something to say, gorgeous?
