I can always count on All the Best for insightful interviews, impossible design finds and interesting finds designed for a more chic life. I particularly enjoyed the interview with impossibly beautiful Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti. By the likes of it, Eva is everything I aspire to be: Chic, stylish, worldly, visionary and entrepreneurial. All the Best puts it this way:

Indeed. Later in the interview, Eva makes mention of her icons:
"Maria Felix for her exuberant and extravagant approach to life.
The Marchesa Luisa Casati for her eccentricity
Frida Khalo for her passion and inner strength to surmount
Babe Paley- for her simplicity, strength and elegance"
All of this prompted me to ask you...If you were asked to name your icons, would you have any and who would they be?
Diana Vreeland - for her flair and single minded vision
Cristobal Balenciaga - for his discipline and turning a craft into an art
Leigh Bowery - for having the courage to be a living work of art
and my Grandmother - for being all those things and more

I love the homages to our own mothers and grandmothers. It just makes me smile.
Vreeland - undoubtedly! I admire her moxy.
Coco for her audaciousness.
Jackie O is another good one. She had grace, style and composure down to a science.
Maria Felix for her unapologetic approach to life.
I have so many. I most appreciate that I can't name just one. I think it is important to forge your own path, so taking the best from so many great people is a wise approach.

Wow, I'm sounding so unoriginal now, but I would definitely say my Grandmother - for her survival instinct and sense of adventure, Coco Chanel - she was an icon in so many ways and has changed life of every woman since - even if they don't know it, Dorothea Tanning - because she faught the mould she was supposed to fit in the 40's and became an incredible artist, and any woman who has struggled and survived.
