If Donatella Calls...
I still remember the first time I stepped foot in a Versace showroom. Gaudy, over embellished fabulousness. Yes, while the House of Versace is dedicated to over the top creations that aren't exactly my taste, I think it serves a worthy and necessary purpose in the design space. Versace (first Gianni, now Donatella) epitomize opulence and embrace the 'more is more' aesthetic. As a creative professional I need to see caution thrown to the wind and a bit of flamboyance exercised.
So today when I noticed Habitually Chic showcased the model apartment at the Plaza in New York outfitted with Versace Home Collection goods I was surprise by what I saw: restraint. Yes, even the bold and the beautifully tanned crave refinement at home.
Here's a snippet of the post:
Interior architect on the project, Gal Nauer, called the collection of black, white and sleek silver "modern yet timeless" and I agree. I'm a sucker for classic details like mouldings mixed with modern furnishings. Apparently the artwork was chosen from ArtLink.
I must admit, these sleek productions look more Metropolitan Home than Miami nightlife. It's great to see that the House of Versace has so much range. After all, a girl can't adorn everything with sequins...can she?

If Donatella calls, tell her this Madame is out.
I do agree with you though, it is definitely a look...

I'm just happy the men finally stopped wearing the too-shiny, too-tight, too-silky Versace button-front tops. boy, what a summer that way.
